VO REP VOI REP PA's Must See Political Talk Show for the 12th Year SUNDAY MORNINGS 10:30 AM Volpe Report f FOX 56 WOLF JUSTICE WECHT: CONFIRMS THE ROLE OF THE SUPREME COURT This week's Guest, Justice David N. Wecht, is a ten-year veteran of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, our highest court, clearly stated his belief that the foremost job is to interpret and apply the laws passed by the General Assembly, the policymakers. Justice Wecht acknowledged the important role his parents played in his life. Although the family is from Pittsburgh, where he still resides, he was born in Baltimore, MD because his mother, Sigrid, was stationed there during her service in the Air Force. Sigrid grew up in Norway during the Nazi occupation of that country; and as a young girl acted as a courier for the resistance. She was used because she was so young the Nazi's didn't suspect her. Justice Wecht's father, Dr. Cyril Wecht, was nationally famous. Having achieved the rarest distinction of earning a medical degree and two law degrees, he was asked to serve on the prestigious Warren Commission, empaneled to study the Kennedy assassination. He would later be featured in the Hollywood blockbuster "Concussion", starring Will Smith, for his role in helping Dr. Bennet Omalu discover CTE. Justice Wecht's own pedigree is impressive, having earned his law degree from Yale Law School and being a member of the famous Yale Law Journal. He is on the ballot for retention and a yes vote on November 4th. Justice David N.
