VO REP PA's Must See Political Talk Show for the 12th Year SUNDAY MORNINGS 10:30 AM VOI REP Volpe Report AG DEFOOR'S LEGACY: FINANCIAL LITERACY f FOX 56 WOLF In high school, Pennsylvania Auditor General Tim DeFoor learned life skills, like how to cook and sew in home economics, and how to use tools in shop class. As Pennsylvania's Auditor General, he's focused on another life skill, financial literacy. He wants it to be his legacy. In fact, because of DeFoor's push for teaching the younger generation how to manage finances, financial literacy has already been added to high school curriculums. Beginning with the 2027-28 school year students will need one half credit in it to complete graduation requirements. General DeFoor, the first Republican Auditor General since 1989, will be the guest on Sunday on the Volpe Report at 10:30 on FOX 56. With 500 school districts in Pennsylvania, DeFoor has been busy traveling the state visiting districts since he was first elected, finding that educators believe that teaching financial literacy is important. Currently, Pennsylvania is 130 days into a budget impasse and the Federal government set a record for being shuttered. He blamed both on what he said has evolved into a "lack of civility". He said debate very often devolves into yelling matches and bleeds outside both Capitols. "We all want government to work," he said. "But the hostility has to stop".
