Players in the state's industries, business and politics have been making the trek to The Big Apple since 1899, but sooner or later during an evening of merriment and friendship, the topic of politics comes up. If you are keeping score, this is the Host's 34th annual after-party, which has become one of the biggest at the event. In all those years he has never had the Gold Medal Award recipient, which is announced at the dinner, attend his party, until this year. In its long-storied history, the PA Society has honored U.S. Presidents, Generals of the Joint Chiefs and Secretaries of State, and other national luminaries. This year's recipient, lawyer David L. Cohen, former U.S. Ambassador to Canda, Chairman of the Trustees at the Univ. of Pennsylvania, as well as Chief Counsel to former Governor Ed Rendell, and Cohen's lovely wife Rhonda attended the Host's party. Other guests on the presentation include U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnehan (R-8), U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser (R-9), PA Attorney General Dave Sunday, PA State Treasurer Stacy Garrity and PA Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46).
