The Luzerne Foundation's 4th Annual Community Champion Awards Dinner Nonprofit Forum Grant Recipients The Luzerne Foundation's 4th Annual Community Champion Awards Dinner brought together nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, business professionals, and community advocates for an evening dedicated to celebrating the individuals and organizations whose leadership and generosity continue to strengthen communities throughout Luzerne County. The event, which has become a signature celebration of community impact and philanthropy, honored those whose commitment to service has created meaningful and lasting change in the lives of others. Guests gathered for an evening marked by gratitude, collaboration, and a shared vision for a stronger future across the region. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of The Luzerne Foundation's 2026 Community Champion Awards, recognizing exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to community service. Allan and Sue Kluger were honored as the Board of Directors Champions for their longstanding commitment to philanthropy, civic leadership, and community engagement. Through their generosity and unwavering support of charitable initiatives, the Klugers have played an instrumental role in advancing opportunities and resources for organizations serving Luzerne County residents. Alan and Susie Kluger Board of Directors Champion Building Blocks Learning Center received the Business Champion Award in recognition of its continued investment in children, families, and educational advancement within the community. The organization was recognized for demonstrating how business leadership and community partnership can work together to create a lasting positive impact. John Lisman was presented with the Innovator Under 40 Champion Award for his visionary leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to driving meaningful Innovator Under 40 Community Champion change throughout the region. His passion for community development and innovative thinking has made him a rising leader dedicated to improving the quality of life in Northeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to recognizing community champions, The Luzerne Foundation awarded a record- breaking $175,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations. Thirty nonprofits were recognized following presentations at The Luzerne Foundation's Nonprofit Forum held on April 9th. Five organizations received $10,000 grants for exceptional innovation and impact, while 25 additional nonprofits were awarded $5,000 grants to support their missions and expand their programming in the community.
