The Area's Top Politicians Talk Show for the 11th Year Volpe Report f FOX 56 SUNDAY MORNINGS 10:30 AM LT. GOVERNOR: PA NOT DEFUNDING POLICE The frequent chants of "defund the police" that echoed through the nation only a few short years ago have mostly subsided to whispers. That might be because in the places where that was tried the results were abject failures, with record murder, violent crime, drug overdoses, retail theft and homeless encampments destroying some of America's most important cities. Thankfully, no evidence of defunding the police is apparent with the Administration of Governor Josh Shapiro and Lt. Governor Austin Davis, evidenced by $2 million to 51 local law enforcements agencies to help attract high quality recruits to fill more than 400 vacant positions in the Commonwealth. Their efforts at recruitment have been noble, as witnessed by a pilot program in Philadelphia referred to by House Speaker Joanna McClinton in last week's show. Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis is the Guest on The Volpe Report this Sunday at 10:30 am. on FOX 56. Unsupervised out of school time is unproductive for school children, so that's why Davis, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, said that more than $111 million investment has been proposed in this year's budget to create a statewide Building Opportunity throughout the School Time (BOOST) to support kids and reduce violence. Also for discussion, will be the Administration's investment in evidence based strategies to address the epidemic of gun violence. Lt.
