PA's Must See Political Talk Show for the 12th Year SUNDAY MORNINGS 10:30 AM Volpe Report TO DEMOCRATS: HAVE YOU NO SENSE OF DECENCY, AT LONG LAST? f The headline evokes a moment in history that repeated itself during President Trump's State of the Union Address this week. American citizens, while understanding the profound policy disagreements between Democrats and Republicans, have a right to expect respect and basic human decency on issues that are not partisan. Like, for example, celebrating virtue, courage and resilience - American values. However, during Trump's address, when heroes were called out and courageous citizens who suffered grievous loss were acknowledged, or a young boy, who valiantly fought cancer were honored ---- there sat the Democrats stone-faced, while the rest of the chamber stood in applause. For shame! It recalled an earlier age when Sen. Joseph McCarthy was riding high and smearing countless Americans with communism, including in the famous Army-McCarthy hearings in 1954, which were nationally televised. Into the breach stepped lawyer Joseph Welch, Special Counsel for the Army, who steadily destroyed every McCarthy attack, so agitating him to the point that McCarthy charged a young associate in Welch's firm of communist ties. And Welch famously responded: "Until this moment, Senator, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you no sense of decency?" I had the same feeling watching the Democrats shame themselves during Trump's address. To discuss the fallout this week's Guest will be US Congressman Rob Bresnahan (R-8th) at 10:30 am on Sunday on FOX 56.
