In Pennsylvania's Seventh Congressional District in 2022, Republican challenger Lisa Scheller lost to Democratic incumbent Susan Wild by just two percentage points, leaving Republicans optimistic of flipping the seat next year. So far, three Republican challengers for Wild's seat have announced candidacies, but one-Lehigh Valley Attorney Maria Montero-is receiving party support. Attorney Montero is the guest Sunday on The Volpe Report on FOX56 at 10:30 a.m. Attorney Montero said she was in part motivated to run for Congress due to the failed policies of President Joe Biden. She acknowledged the crisis at the southern border, where she said terrorists and drug cartels are entering the U.S. and spreading their poison on our streets and in our schools. "Our southern border is a disaster," she said. If she is nominated and elected, Attorney Montero said her emphasis in Congress will focus on jobs, energy production and fighting the drug surge, especially the deadly fentanyl spreading to nearly every town. She blamed the out of control inflation on all of the money the Biden Administration has distributed since the start of the COVID 19 epidemic.
