Bloomin’ Idiots Floral and Garden Center (then Bloomin’ Idiots Garden Center) began from humble beginnings as a 2-person operation on September 16, 2004, on Moosic Road in Old Forge PA at a location along the bank of the Lackawanna River. The very next day, as heavy, unrelenting rain from Hurricane Ivan caused the Lackawanna River to rise nearly 6 feet above flood stage, sending it out of its’ banks and through many properties in its path, taking what was Bloomin’ Idiots Garden Center with it. With the help of family and friends, clean up began soon after and the garden center re-opened, operating as a seasonal business from Easter through Christmas, at that location until 2006, when it was moved to our current location at 100 Lonesome Road, Old Forge, PA.
