NEWPORT TOWNSHIP GLASS RECYCLING Newport Township is making changes to its recycling program effective January 1, 2025 in conjunction with the grant provisions for our new municipal recycling truck. This change will meet the current glass recycling requirements. No glass whatsoever will be accepted in curbside containers as of January 1, 2025. At the present time glass is part of the "Red Can" recycling program, which provided for alternate week comingle (glass, tin and aluminum) and cardboard collection by the Township. Compliance will be achieved by providing a drop off container at the Newport Township Municipal Building located at 351 West Kirmar Ave. This container will under 24-7 video surveillance. Nothing other than CLEAN household glass (bottles, jars) shall be placed in the container (no paper, plastic bags, cardboard, buckets, garbage bags, etc.,). Any items placed in or alongside the glass recycling container will be considered (treated) as illegal dumping. We value our environment and take great pride in our efforts to meet requirements along with cost containment initiatives for our residents.
