Mayor MUNICIPALITY OF KINGSTON 500 WYOMING AVENUE, KINGSTON, PENNSYLVANIA 18704-3681 A Message from Mayor Paul Roberts Jr. to the Municipality of Kingston The past several weeks have been extremely challenging for our residents and essential government employees. This pandemic has placed tremendous anxiety on our residents and unprecedented stress on our government's resources and the essential employees that are responsible for the delivery of our services. I personally thank all of our residents and businesses for adhering to all of the stringent guidelines which required sheltering at home or closing to beat the spread of COVID-19. I personally thank our great staff of emergency and essential personnel for their unselfish commitment to our community during trying times. We are proud and forever grateful for your sacrifices! The Administrative Offices of the Municipality of Kingston will remain closed to foot traffic through at least May 31. The offices will be open Monday- Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm for servicing all public needs. If there is a necessary or compelling need to meet with a member of our staff, it can be arranged by appointment only (570-288-4576 extension 112 or kingston@kingstonpa.org). Any member of the public entering the Municipal Building during this time will be required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines (we are also contemplating temperature checks for entry to the Municipal Building). Restrictions on residential and commercial construction are lifted effective May 1. All residential and commercial permit applications are available at www.kingstonpa.org. If you do not have internet access, we will mail all necessary documents to your attention. We will make every effort to process your application within 48 hours from receipt. Permit applications, tax payments, parking ticket payments, employment applications, and all correspondence requiring our attention can be dropped off at the Kingston Municipal Building or mailed. There are drop boxes located at the front and side entrances to the Municipal Building. The Kingston Recreation Center and all public parks will remain closed unti further notice. The exercise track around Church Street Park is open to the public. Please practice social distancing when using the exercise track. The feasibility of providing summer camp services, opening the Kingston Community Pool, appliance pick-up, and clutter cleanup are under advisement due to the evolving nature of the pandemic. We are hopeful that all will happen even if delayed or modified in nature. Please monitor our website and Kingston Municipal Police Department Facebook Page for updates. Please refer to the Garbage and Recycling Calendar for all curbside collection services which includes yard waste (www.kingstonpa.org). For added convenience, yard waste can be dropped off at the DPW Warehouse, Monday- Friday, 7:30am-2:30pm. Please don't forget to register for the 2020 United States Census. Registering is very important for the Municipality of Kingston and Northeastern Pennsylvania. Please register at www.2020census.gov or by calling 844-330-2020. We have many exciting projects that will resume in coming days which includes the construction of a new playground and football field at Church Street Park, new fitness equipment and furnishings at the Kingston Recreation Center, new pave and handicap ramps along West Union Street, and a complete makeover of Third Avenue between Pierce Street and Rutter Avenue. We promise to make the best of this summer! We look forward to the return of normalcy and servicing all of your needs. Thank you for making Kingston a Great Place to Cll Home!
